The solution is designed to fully support SMPTE’s immersive audio bitstream (IAB) standard ST 2098-2. As part of the process to rollout IAB, GDC and DTS jointly demonstrated the DTS:X IAB cinema solution to Hollywood studios and industry stakeholders in February 2020 in Los Angeles.
