GDC Technology to Unveil HDR Cinema LED and 64-channel Cinema Audio Processor
GDC to Demonstrate Revolutionary Acoustically Transparent LED Technology with HDR Media Server and New DTS:X for IAB Cinema Processor for PLF Auditoriums at CinemaCon 2026
LAS VEGAS, April 13, 2026 –GDC Technology Limited (‘GDC’), a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, announced today that it will demonstrate the fully acoustically transparent Tricorne Premium HDR Cinema LED screen (“Tricorne Premium LED”) with a 2.5-millimeter pixel pitch at CinemaCon 2026. CinemaCon is the largest convention for the cinema exhibition and distribution community, taking place in Las Vegas from April 13 to 16. The scalable Tricorne Premium LED cinema screen features 4K resolution or higher and supports DCI-certified HDR (“High Dynamic Range”), along with 4K high frame rates (HFR) playback with the GDC HDR media server.
Additionally, GDC will demonstrate its new AIB-4000 64-channel DTS:X for IAB cinema processor, designed for Premium Large Format auditoriums. It is designed to work with all major DCI media servers and natively supports IAB immersive audio (SMPTE ST 2098-2) standard. It is compatible with Dante and AES67 protocols, enabling up to 64 channels of network audio. This advanced architecture simplifies installation while delivering a vivid, three-dimensional sound field.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of GDC’s collaboration with DTS, highlighting a decade of joint efforts in advancing immersive audio technologies for cinema.

Unlike non-perforated LED displays, which require screen speakers to be placed around the LED screen, the Tricorne Premium LED features full perforations across the entire screen. This allows stage speakers to be installed directly behind it, replicating the traditional cinema’s stage speaker setup and avoiding audio challenges common to non-perforated LED screens. The result is sound that aligns with the filmmaker’s intent, fully compatible with leading audio formats.

Each module is aligned to millimeter tolerances to ensure a seamless cinematic image. Featuring a 2.5 mm pixel pitch, the Tricorne Premium LED delivers unmatched image quality, including a DCI certified HDR feature. The result is a 4K or higher resolution image that fills the audience’s field of view while delivering high brightness and precise color reproduction. The Tricorne Premium LED is available in sizes from 7 meters to over 30 meters and can be scaled to fit nearly any auditorium wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, including the ability to curve the screen.
Supports premium active 3D presentations:
Unlike reflective projection, LED display is emissive light technology, delivering exceptional depth and clarity with minimal optical distortion. Combined with LED’s intrinsic high brightness and high contrast, direct-view 3D content appears incredibly vivid and lifelike—significantly elevating the experience for blockbusters and event cinema.
Operational reliability and compliance:
The system features a fully DCI-certified LED cinema ecosystem, powered by the GDC HDR LED media server with built-in CineCache™ solid-state storage (4TB). Built on a 100,000-hour MTBF architecture, GDC media servers provide near-zero maintenance and long-term reliability for cinema operators. As of 1st January 2026, GDC powers approximately 70% of global LED cinema installations and remains the only DCI-HDR compliant media server.
