Paramount Complex First Built in 1929 Reopened as a Brand-new-7-screen Pathé Palace with LED Cinema Screens Powered by GDC LED Media Servers

HONG KONG, October 9, 2024 — GDC Technology Limited (‘GDC’), a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, announced today that its LED media servers were used in all the LED cinema screens at the historic Pathé Palace. GDC designed and manufactured the world’s first DCI-compliant media server exclusively for the LED cinema direct-view display market, which was introduced by Samsung and GDC in 2017. The solution was the momentum that jump-started the adoption of LED cinema worldwide.

Nestled in the beating heart of Paris, and just a stone’s throw from the Garnier Opera House, this architectural project has the audacious objective of becoming the essential destination in Paris for cinema lovers. With seven screens and 854 seats, Pathé Palace offers all cinema lovers a unique venue where comfort meets cutting-edge image and sound technologies. All theaters have been designed to be accessible to people with reduced mobility as well as those with hearing or visual impairments, thanks to the Twavox solution. Auditorium 1 has a capacity of 431 Club seats in red velvet with double armrests, and for the most dedicated cinephiles, it offers screenings of films in 35 and 70-mm formats. Auditoriums 2 to 7 are equipped with Samsung Onyx LED cinema screens and offer capacities ranging from 29 to 96 including heated seats with reclining leather backrests.

GDC’s LED media server directly interfaces with the Samsung Onyx LED Cinema Screen for secured playback of content distributed to movie theatres. GDC’s LED media servers are also used in Australia, Austria, Mainland China, China Hong Kong, France, Germany, India, Israel, Korea, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Vietnam.
