GDC seals agreement with Shochiku to deploy digital cinema systems under VPF program
TOKYO (February 22, 2011) – GDC Technology (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider,
in conjunction with its partner, USHIO Inc., is pleased to announce that it has reached a new agreement
with Shochiku Co., Ltd. (“Shochiku”), under a VPF program to supply DCI-compliant digital cinema
equipment to Shochiku Multiplex Theaters (“SMT”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Shochiku.
GDC currently holds the largest number of VPF agreements with the Hollywood Studios in Asia. Under
the VPF program, participating studios will temporarily provide financial contributions towards the DCIcompliant digital equipment, thus exhibitors will greatly benefit from a reduced capital outlay and low risk.
