GDC Technology and Barco to showcase the industry’s first Standalone Integrated Media Block at CineAsia 2011
Hong Kong (December 5, 2011) – GDC Technology (“GDC Tech”), a world-leading digital cinema solution provider, and Barco, a digital cinema pioneer, cordially invite you to come and experience the digital cinema industry’s first-ever Standalone Integrated Media Block (“IMB”) on the tradeshow floor (GDC Tech booth #311) at CineAsia from the 6th through the 8th of December, 2011 in Hong Kong. This live demonstration will utilize a Barco DP2K-20C DLP Cinema® projector with the GDC Standalone Integrated Media Block (“IMB”).
This revolutionary demonstration will showcase how the combined capabilities of Barco’s and GDC’s digital cinema solution are capable of achieving content playback whilst eliminating the need for an external SMS and file server, which allows for incredible flexibility of boothless installation and effortless theatre management. The feature-rich Standalone IMB supports higher frame rates in both 2D and 3D and it also supports both 2K and 4K resolutions. The real breakthrough in GDC Standalone IMB is the complete remote access and streaming of the DCP content to a projector with IMB without the need for an SMS and/or file server. The expanded compatibility supports HDMI input, 3G HD-SDI input, 2D and 3D live streaming and allows for image scaling from HD to 4K. Moreover, the elegant Standalone IMB is designed to be fully FIPS140 and DCI compliant and retains the unique features, high reliability and performance level of GDC’s original IMB server models.
“Barco and GDC Tech are both committed to drive state-of-the-art digital cinema technology,” said Mr. Tang Feng, Barco’s managing director sales & service and VP sales entertainment for greater china, “Barco and GDC Tech’s groundbreaking demonstration at CineAsia is intended to inspire exhibitors that we can keep them ahead of the digital cinema curve, by offering the most advanced solutions.
