Frank Theatres selects GDC Technology for digital cinema conversion

CINEMACON, Las Vegas(April 26, 2012)GDC Technology (GDCTech), a world-leading digital cinema solution provider, announced today Frank Theatres (Frank), a division of the Frank Family Entertainment Group, has selected GDC SX2000A Digital Cinema Servers with Integrated Media Block (IMB) for its digital conversion with NEC projectors. This deployment covers close to 80 renovated and redesigned screens and an additional 36 newly constructed screens, which will be completed by the end of 2012 or by mid-2013 respectively.

 

Celebrating 100 years of “bringing families together”, the Frank Family Entertainment Group was founded in 1906 by Samuel Frank of Philadelphia, PA. The Company has owned, operated, developed, and managed over 150 entertainment businesses. Frank, incorporated in 1921, introduced “talkie films” to the Philadelphia area. It built the first “Twin” theatre in the United States in 1966 and developed the Towne 16 Stadium Cinema in 1986, which was one of the earliest MegaPlex Cinemas in New Jersey which reintroduced stadium seating backs.
