GDC gains another contract in US- to deploy servers for Showplex Cinemas

CINEMACON, Las Vegas (March 31, 2011) – GDC Technology (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce today a commitment to supply digital cinema servers to Showplex Cinemas, Inc. (“Showplex”), a cinema chain in the Midwest. GDC will supply the deployment of a total of 81 GDC servers across five Midwestern states; Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nebraska. Full deployment is expected to be completed by September 2012.

Under this deployment, GDC will supply cutting edge digital cinema servers, while Barco will provide digital projection systems, as well as facilitate the equipment installation and integration, and ensure a reliable support service is readily available. Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM), the global leader in digital cinema conversion programs, is responsible for structuring and implementing the underlying VPF agreement that enables Showplex’s conversion to digital cinema, as well as providing the entire administration responsibility of the VPF program for Showplex. This tripartite effort effectively combines the complementary strengths of the three parties involved, thus providing an effective platform on which Showplex’s digital conversion can be successfully carried out.

Showplex Cinemas is a newly established theatre circuit owned by Texas-based Trinity Hunt Partners and
launched in May 2010 after acquiring 10 theatre locations from Dickinson Theatres. Showplex remains
dedicated to upholding the premier services at these acquired locations, with a goal to provide its customers with the best movie-going experience possible and to establish itself as the entertainment venue of choice.

“Having taken on 10 new theatres just last year, we wanted to ensure a smooth transition to digital at each location, which will undoubtedly yield a richer movie-going experience for our customers,” said Al Lane, President and CEO of Showplex Cinemas. “Our expectations have certainly been met; GDC has guided us through each step of the conversion process. Their servers consistently deliver the highest quality images which are complimented by GDC’s extremely reliable support service. At this stage we could not be happier!”

“GDC shares the same vision as Showplex in providing customers a cinematic experience that is of the highest quality. We are delighted that Showplex has chosen GDC to undertake this mission together,” said Dr. ManNang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology. “The best movie going experience requires the best digital cinema equipment and for over a decade GDC has supplied exhibitors with the most cutting edge technology. We are confident in our equipment which continues to prove successful across the US and we look forward to developing a new partnership with Showplex in the years ahead.”
